Our Portion is love...
My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
Yes! And it happens to people every day. We feel like our flesh and our heart are failing. And in the midst of
our weakness, God shows up!
Yes! God is the strength of our heart and our portion forever.
I write "love is our portion". Yes! Love is our portion!
It is in great love that God created us.
It is in great love that He knit us together in our mother's womb and has assigned us angels to guard and protect us and minister to us throughout our lives. It is in great love that we are continually provided for (even though at times it seems like His provision is slow to come). We can rest assured that He will show up at just the right time to save us, and in this, God proves Himself over and over again. He is God... and He indeed is the strength of our heart and our portion forever!
God sent His son, Jesus to be born... to live as a joyful child seeking to be in His Father's presence. In God's word, we see Jesus grow from a baby in a manger, the Savior born into the sinful world. We watch Him grow into a man, preaching His Father's love and truth to mankind. We watch Jesus be hated, ridiculed, mocked, beaten and killed because of His great love for us.
Do you ever stop and think about it? Are your days too busy? Are they filled with too much selfish distraction to know such a great love?
To experience the love of Jesus, is to know that love is indeed our portion. Th love of our Father was placed inside of our beating heart, as He formed us and as He gave us that first breath of life here on this earth.
We are the love of our Father, a part of His beautiful creation...living, breathing and loving the life that He so freely gives.
Yes! Our portion is love! His love, our love is meant to give and share with one another.
Even though at times, we may feel...our flesh and our heart failing, we must also know that God is the strength of our heart and our portion forever.
Yes! He loves us the most and our portion is pure, sweet love!
My prayer for today: Father God, Oh, how thankful we are for your love. Thank you for giving us your Word in the Scriptures of the Holy Bible. As You hold us in the midst of every trial and deception, we thank You for always calling our heart back to your sweet, pure, loving truth.
Jesus loves us the Most!
And our portion is love....to receive from our Father and to give to others.
