A chattering fool... A lesson in heart and obedience, Proverbs 10:8

Patricia Ann
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. (Proverbs 10:8)

Surely we have all known a person who talks too much.
This person just chatters about anything and everything.
In fact, these people are sure within themselves that everything they say is important and that we should continually listen to and agree with them.

They make it a point to make sure that they are heard. After all, they are more important and more favored than

anyone else. Right?
They do not accept disagreement and they do not listen to, or hear any one else's thoughts or opinions on any matter.
It is their way only! They chatter on and on until finally, we just don't want to be around them anymore.
Their superior attitude and self-reliance totally overshadows any good that might be in their heart. This person goes his

own way in a disobedience to God and His truths.

What does God say about this?
The wise in heart accept commands, but a chattering fool comes to ruin. (Proverbs 10:8)
God is telling us that walking through life with this kind of attitude is not going to give good results.  In fact, this person is going to fall into ruin.
This clearly is not how God wants things to be!
He tells us: "My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity." (Proverbs 3:1-2)

My prayer for today is that we don't walk away from that chattering fool in our lives, but instead find a way to lead them out of their foolishness and into the obedience of our Lord.
Truth of His word tells us that He desires for ALL of His children to know Him and walk in obedience to His word. May we be His vessels that lead those captive to themselves into freedom with Christ Jesus.
Love and Blessings to All in Jesus' Precious Name.  Amen.
