The End of the World - May 21, 2011? Matthew 24:36

But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. KJV MATT:24:36

I recently received a call about the end of the world coming on Saturday May 21, 2011.

Many people are in a panic, wondering:
  Is it true?
  What can I do?
  How will it happen?

This can be scary news to any of God's children who do not understand,  those who are not saved, those who have no knowledge of the Bible or God's plan for our lives.

But rest assured: Jeremiah 29:11 says,  "For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." NIV

God, our Father in Heaven, desires to have a relationship with each of us.

He desires for each of us to share in a future with Him.

He desires to know you and me from the deepest part of our heart.

He longs to hear our voices calling on Him for help in troubled times.

And He rejoices in our praises and our singing.

He fills us with His love and gives us the gifts or fruits of the Holy Spirit.

“But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.” (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)

You see, when we as children of God make the choice to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are accepting Him

into our hearts.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, who was born to fulfill a prophesy, born to live and perform miracles, born to be beaten and die a cruel death on a wooden cross because of the love that Our Father in Heaven has for you and me, as His children - His creation.

It is living in this sin-filled world that we become subject to irrational fears, anxiety, frustration, anger, hatred and many other evils of this world.

It is living a life in this sin-filled world that causes PANIC to set in at the thought of the world coming to an end on

a certain day - like May 21, 2011.

God doesn't want us to panic about the day of His return, but to rejoice at the thought of living life eternally with HIM.

Can you imagine the awesomeness of looking up in the sky and seeing Our Savior with His arms stretched out to each of us inviting us into His pure presence, His pure glory, His pure love?!

Sure, their will be a multitude of people who are running around in fear and scared, hiding from what they don't understand.

But that doesn't have to be you. It doesn't have to be me.

It is when we choose to change our focus from the sin-filled earthly ways of the world we live in and look to God that our lives can be changed forevermore.
We no longer live in fear and anxiety of what is coming, but look to the future with expectation of love and joy - a future that Our Father in Heaven has planned for each of us.

The Bible is God's true and faithful word to His children and in Matthew 24:36 He tells us:
But of that day and hour knoweth no [man], no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

So, I cannot say that the world will not come to an end on Saturday, May 21, 2011.
Since no mans knows the day or the hour, it could be today, tomorrow, in a month or a hundred years from now.

The question is:  Are you ready for His return?
Do you want to live life without the anxiety and fear of when the world will end?
Do you want to live a life expectant of the love and joy that comes only from a relationship with God?

If so, then pray the Prayer of Salvation and ask Jesus into your heart, accepting Him as your Savior today.

                                                     Salvation Prayer
Dear Father in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.
I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.
You said in Your Holy Word, Romans 10:9, that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.
Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.
Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace and love endures forever.  Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself.
Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life.
Amen. Salvation Prayer.info © 2007

I pray for peace, joy and fulfillment through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior for all of God's people.

Blessings in Jesus name.
