Where is God... in the midst... of chaos??

I think that everyone at some time - when in the midst of chaos -- and devastation,
asks the question, "Where is God?"
There are countless chaotic situations.
The recent earthquake in Japan was catastrophic.
Individual lives have been turned upside down.
Loved ones are missing, homes, vehicles, businesses, have been swept away by a monstrous sea of water after a violent continuous shaking of the earth for several minutes that actually moved Japan by several feet.
For those of us who were not there, we cannot begin to sense the fear or terror that the people faced during the event or
what they will continue to face for years to come.
Similar disasters have happened over the years in other countries and without a doubt, similar catastrophic events will continue to occur in days or years to come.
We never know the time or place that disaster can strike, but we can rest assured that when disaster does strike,
we have Our Lord, Jesus Christ who hears our cries and in His love for us, comes to our aid, providing an inner comfort
and peace in even the most horrific of times.
For some people, these chaotic situations seem to go on and on with no end in sight.
But for God's children, those of us who choose to cry out to Our Heavenly Father, we will find ourselves surviving the troubling times with an inner strength that only He can provide.
Anger and frustration often present themselves in times of recovery after a disaster.
Many people are unable to cope in these situations, often turning their pain inside, afraid to look to tomorrow,
afraid of what is happening today.
They seek answers to many questions.
So often, the question arises, "Where is God in the midst of this chaos?"
Zephaniah 3:17, NKJV, “The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
His great love for each of His children is beautiful.
Psalm 46:10 (New International Version, ©2011)
He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
He tells us to be still for our own good, to let our guard down and to give release of our whole selves to Him.
Psalm 46:8-11 says:
8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
how He has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;
He burns the chariots with fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!”
11 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
God is touching places in His world that do not know Him.
He is shaking up our world as we know it -- as He seeks relationship with all of human kind -
all who have been born - in every country of this world.
God is seeking a relationship with each and every child born upon this earth. We are all His children.
But, so many do not know him as a result of growing up in differing cultures with differing belief systems and
Christianity, however, is not a religion, but rather a relationship with Our Creator, through our Lord Jesus Christ who suffered His own horrific destruction on this earth at the hands of those who chose to hate Him - those who did not understand who He was or why He was sent by a God they did not know.
At any time, Our Lord Jesus could have chosen to stop His own destruction, but out of Love for each of us - He chose to die on a wooden cross, with spikes driven in his hands and feet, a crown of thorns around his head and blood dripping down onto his dying body.
The Holy Bible is God's gift to us.
It contains His instructions for living a successful life on this earth.
It tells us of times past and times to come. And in this great Book, we find the answers we seek as humans.
We find relationship with our Lord.
He tells us: I will hear your cry.
Exodus 22:23, If you do and they cry out to Me, I will certainly hear their cry.
1 Kings 9:3, The LORD said to him: "I have heard the prayer and plea you have made before me; I have consecrated this temple, which you have built, by putting my Name there forever. My eyes and my heart will always be there.
Psalm 9:18, But the needy will not always be forgotten, nor the hope of the afflicted ever perish. Psalm 34:15, The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their cry;
Psalm 145:19, He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.
Our Father in Heaven wants to strengthen you - taking away your fear and giving to you His awesome love and forgiveness.
Are you in the midst of chaos, a crisis situation, a natural disaster?
If so, seek the only One who can provide you with understanding, an inner peace and comfort despite your situation. He will lead you to higher ground -- His perfect place filled with His peaceful love and contentment for you - His beloved child.
My prayer for today is that all of God's children will seek Him in times of chaos and disaster, misunderstanding and fear. Even if you have never known Him, He has always loved you and will hear your cry.
Matt. 7:7, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."
I pray for those who are in the midst of destruction, fear and chaos and that God will carry each to a glorious victory on higher ground.
Blessings to all in Jesus name, Amen
