Choose love over pain

Patricia Ann

God has given me a lot of messages in my life that have led me in His direction; Holy Spirit guidance that serves to protect us and inform us.

We have the entire Holy Bible as God's handbook for our life and it is full of His promises of love and acceptance, rules to live by and stories of what happens if we do not obey, as well as what happens when we do obey His ways.

God's word warns us of the tactics and schemes of the enemy, the devil.

1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom

he may devour:.

Our Father in Heaven tells us in Matthew 10:16...
"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves:, be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Yes! Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

That serpent is cunning and sly and he preys on us, just waiting for any opportunity to do a sneak attack.

One way he attacks us in our vulnerability.  God assures us that when we are weak, He is strong on our behalf.  In Himself we find our strength.

But, what happens when we are so taken by surprise that we unintentionally buy into that lie that the devil has so cunningly put in front of us?  What happens when the devil wages war on our mind?

What happens when we are so overcome with the shock of a situation that our mind seems confused, tormented and it seems like we cannot find our own thoughts?  It seems like the devil has taken control and we feel off track.  We feel terrible, tormented and broken.  We feel like our spirit has been broken. We have fallen victim to the schemes of the enemy and we just cannot get up.  We find ourselves in pain.  And emotional pain leads to physical pain, as well.

None of use are immune to attacks from the enemy.  The enemy just loves to cause trouble and keep our focus off of our Father, our Creator, the One who knows and loves us the Most!  The enemy seeks to steal us from our Father's arms.

My prayer for today...May we rise above the pain into the loving promises of our Lord Jesus.  He loves us the Most! In fact He already has loved us to the Cross and back,  taking the wiles and schemes of the devil to kill, steal, and destroy to that Cross and setting us free.  I pray that we all choose love over the pain and live daily in His love.  It is worth it. He is worth it. You are worth it!  Love and prayers to all in Jesus' precious Name.
