May she who gave you birth be happy ~ Proverbs 23:25

~ I Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient; love is kind. Love is not jealous; is not proud; is not conceited; does not act foolishly; is not selfish; is not easily provoked to anger; keeps no record of wrongs; takes no pleasure in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

When a woman discovers that she is going to have a baby, she finds herself with a world of new thoughts.
At first she may be scared, filled with wonder about the changes to come -- changes to her body, to her marriage,

to her future.
But as time goes onward toward the birth of the new life - she finds herself blessed.

From the life growing inside of her she feels movement - a flutter at first and then on to kicks that sometimes hurt, but remain a joyous occasion every time.

And when the day of delivery comes, the new mother endures a multitude of joy and pain all at the same time.

Pain from childbirth, but joy at the sight and sound of the new life that has been created.

The first cry of a newborn baby is miraculous as the air we breathe, fills the lungs and the baby has made the transition from living inside the womb to life as a human person on this earth.

And as the new mother holds that baby in her arms for the first time, she smells the pure sweet breath of the baby and remembers it forever.

This life that was once growing inside of her is now her responsibility to raise and love and teach.

A mother is filled with excitement as her baby says its first "mama" and other words follow.

She is filled with excitement as her baby crawls and then takes its first step.

She is filled with excitement as her baby giggles in laughter and smiles at her.

A mother is filled with excitement as she watches her baby grow each day developing its own personality.

In raising a child a mother finds - inside of herself a love greater than she ever expected to know - an unconditional love filled with patience and kindness, understanding and hope for a wonderful future for her child.

A mother worries about her child, running to him or her as they fall with skinned knees or even broken bones.

A mother is there when their child suffers
a sad or broken heart.

A mother doesn't leave her child's side when they are sick, meditating constantly in prayer for Jesus to come to the rescue with His healing power and mercy.

A mother is there to rejoice in good times and to pick up the pieces when bad things happen - restoring to her child a sense of peace in their life.

A mother loves her children forever, even in times of fierce rebellion or misunderstanding as her child grows up in a
sin-filled world.

A mother's love rejoices in what is right, rejoices in truth and honesty, bears all things, hopes all things and endures

all things.

When God created Mothers, he created them in His image.

He created Mothers unique and wonderful with the ability and desire to instill His great love into each newborn life - to guide and teach according to His plan for each of His children living on this earth.

And God gave some mothers special needs children.
Some babies are born with physical problems or special needs that will last a lifetime.
And for these children, God created extra special mothers equipped by Him with all the extras.  They are extra devoted, extra patient, extra loving, extra kind and despite hard times - forever thankful that God gave them such a precious gift of life.

A mother never forgets that her child is a gift from God - as she watches her children grow in life from the tiny infant that needed her every minute to the grown up adult that still comes to her for wisdom and advice.

A mother meditates in prayer, setting a Godly example for her children.

A mother never ceases to thank God for her children and to find a pure unconditional love for them.

Just as Mary loved Jesus, every mother loves her children.

My prayer for today is that we all remember our Mothers and remain thankful and joyful for all they have given to us through the love of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

May she who gave you birth be happy ~ Proverbs 23:25

Blessings to all this Mother's day and every day.  Amen

2 Timothy 1:5 ESV, I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you as well.
Proverbs 31:28, Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her.

Proverbs 6:20-22 ESV, My son, keep your father’s commandment, and forsake not your mother’s teaching. Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
