Puppet Master? ... We are not puppets!

Have you ever felt like everything in your life was out of your control?
No matter what you tried to do, it seemed like someone else was
pulling strings that led to your demise?
You just could not get ahead; trying to move forward, you seemed to succeed for a few steps then found yourself hurling backward, as if attached to a rubber band?
You just want to sit down and cry... giving up because it seems too hard to continue in a losing battle.

Are you ever going to succeed in life?
How do you get free from the ties that are binding you?
You feel desperate...as if you can't move.
Every time you try to get free to move forward... you are pulled back.
You feel like you are a puppet and someone else is controlling your every move.

The definition of a puppet is:

A small figure of a person or animal, having a cloth body and hollow head, designed to be fitted over and manipulated by the hand.
A figure having jointed parts animated from above by strings or wires; a marionette.
A toy representing a human figure; a doll

A lot of people place the blame on our Father in Heaven for the trials they face; for never being able to move forward and always falling behind.
A lot of people may find themselves thinking that we are God's puppets, here for His enjoyment and that He plays games with us.
That isn't true.
I want you to know that our God created us in His image.  He is not a puppet master and we are not his puppets.

We have a human body designed in His image.  We don't have a hollow head, either.  In fact , our God has given us a sound mind and a choice to choose how we live our life.  We can choose to know Him and love Him or live in this world, loving worldly things; money, fame, fancy cars, etc.

We certainly are not manipulated from above by strings or wires as puppets are.
I am sure that there are many times that God intervenes in events in our lives to keep us safe from harm.
We call those miracles.
He tells us in Scripture that He has plans to prosper us and to not harm us, so it makes sense that He does intervene at times for our best interest. However, we must look at those times as proof that our Father in Heaven keeps His word, showing us that He loves and cares for us.
We are not His toys, but instead His cherished children whom He loves and created in His image. He has given us beautifully created bodies, sound minds and hearts that reflect who He is in each of us.
You see, our God is awesome and we each have the potential to be awesome, too.
We cannot blame Him when things go wrong in our life; when we find ourselves at a dead end with nowhere to go, nothing seems to work, and our lives appear hopeless.
When we feel like life is a rubber band, holding us back from moving forward, remember that God gave us free will; a life full of choices.

We can break that rubber band that holds us back, rendering it useless in our lives. Forward is where we are going.
Our God never wants us to stay in turmoil.  We must look for the  doorways and not be afraid to walk through them.

It is the ways of this world that make us feel like puppets.
As scripture tells us: the evil one sits like a roaring lion ready to
devour us.
It is Satan, God's adversary, that seeks to be our puppet master; creating in us a lost sense of hope, depression, anguish and feelings of despair.  It is the evil one who wishes to make us his puppet.
God says "No".
We are created in His image with a sound mind and body.  We are created to prosper and to do good.
Do not be deceived.  We are no ones puppet!

We are  loved and cherished children of our Father in Heaven.
Let us go about our day and be Blessed for our God is awesome!
His love is awesome.

He doesn't seek to control us, but instead to teach us His ways and to share who He is through our hearts and our interactions with others, always bringing glory to His great name.
My prayer for today is that we never look to our Father in Heaven as the controlling force in our life, but as the source of all creation; love, beauty, compassion, mercy, grace and so much more.
God is not a puppet master and we are not puppets.
Praise God for He is good.  Amen!
Scripture:
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7
Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring  lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 1 Peter 5:8
