Living Water John 7:38   Patricia Ann, Originally posted Sunday, September 01, 2013

Jesus tells us in the Holy Bible, "He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water." John 7:38
But, what about those people who have not yet accepted Jesus as their Savior?
What about those people who are so caught up in the sinfulness of the world that inside of them there is no river of living water, but only a stagnant pool of dirty water.
Due to their continued sinfulness, the water within them is unable to receive the fresh living water that our Father in Heaven provides.
Unlike the flow of fresh living water which gives life, out of the pool of dirty water occasionally flows a violent purging of filth.  It comes out as hatred, cursing, anger, lust, and violence of every sort. After this purging there may be a short period of remorse or guilt at the outburst, but again as the sinfulness continues, the dirty water becomes murkier and more stagnant until once again an eruption occurs. It is another violent purging of filth.
We wonder, will this person ever flow rivers of living water as is God's plan for His creation?  What can we do to help this person receive a fresh life giving drink from our Father in Heaven?
John 4:14 tells us that whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

We see that there is hope for this person, but how does the dark murky water of putrid sinfulness get replaced with a fresh flow of living water from Jesus?

The answer is easy, but the path for many is very hard.
There are many obstacles that stand in the way.  These include pride, arrogance, ego, denial, hatred, being unforgiving, and many more.

One must seek our Lord with his whole heart, repenting of the sins of the past and present and choose to live a different life. We  must choose to live a life for God -- His way --instead of our own way.
Letting go of our own selfish desires will allow the water of our Lord to refresh the murky stagnant pool within and we will be refreshed like a spring bringing forth pure water.

That is the awesomeness of our Lord!

As He tells us in the Holy Bible, "He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."   John 7:38

Let us praise His Holy Name!
